VMWare Fusion
Let's take a look at the newcomer to the virtualization area, VMWare Fusion.
VMWare Fusion 1.1
VMWare Fusion, much like Parallels, allows you to run multiple virtual machines on your Mac. Here is where it beats Parallels:
- 1. Fusion allows you to use multiple processors for a virtual machine. For example, if you have a quad core machine, you can assign 1-3 processors to the virtual machine. Parallels can only assign one processor.
- 2. Fusion allows you to use up to 8 GB of RAM on your virtual machine, far surpassing Parallels' 1.5 GB limit.
- 3. Support for over 60 operating systems, from Windows 3.1 to Windows 7 (Longhorn/Vienna) to Linux and beyond.
